While briefly talking about the products, Tripuraneni spoke about the LG IrisAccess 3000 platform. Developed by LG, the product is a multi-component system that includes:
ROU3000 (Remote Optical Unit) that is installed next to a door where access control is desired for a front and rear enclosure;
ICU3000 (Identification Control Unit), which performs the function of receiving images from ROU3000 and converting them into 512-byte templates for comparison with stored values;
Though reluctant to divulge the cost of the solutions, Triupraneni nevertheless revealed that a one-door, 2500 user package would cost anywhere between Rs. 7 to 8 lakhs while a four-door 2500 user package would start from Rs.10 lakhs and upwards.
While a pilot project for the Andhra Pradesh Government Solutions has already been undertaken, plans are afoot for similar deployment in GAIL, which is expected to be completed by March this year, disclosed Tripuraneni.
